A strong union needs skills, benefits and ACTION!
When we fight, we win! Last night, the Revere City Council unanimously approved (11–0) a historic Wage Theft Ordinance to protect workers in the city from unscrupulous actors who threaten their livelihoods. The ordinance, filed by our friend and ally, Councilor Juan Jaramillo, mirrors one of the strongest wage theft protections in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We thank Mayor Patrick Keefe, Jr and the entire City Council for recognizing the need for this action.
This is a major step forward in our union’s ongoing mission to end tax fraud and wage theft, and to stand up for the workers who have already been taken advantage of. By tackling the widespread issue of wage theft and promoting fair labor practices in the construction industry, we not only protect the livelihoods of hardworking people but also strengthen the very fabric of our communities. This victory is a powerful reminder that when we stand united, we can create meaningful change and build a better future for all. Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke out, and stood together in solidarity to make this victory possible!
