Tom Flynn Appointed to the Position of Second General Vice President of the UBC

The North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (NASRCC) congratulates Tom Flynn, who has been appointed to the position of Second General Vice President of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC). His appointment became effective April 1 and was announced by UBC General President Doug McCarron. Flynn succeeds Brother David Tharp, who has retired.

“Tom is a tremendous talent and a gifted union leader,” said NASRCC Executive Secretary-Treasurer Joe Byrne. “We’re incredibly proud to call him our Brother and congratulate him on his continued advancement in the leadership of our union.”

A native of Dorchester and a member of Boston Carpenters Local 327, Flynn has been the General Secretary-Treasurer of the UBC since 2020. Prior to that he served as the Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the NASRCC, UBC Political Director and in various leadership and political roles on the local union and regional council level.

General President McCarron has appointed Mark McGriff to the position of General Secretary Treasurer.
