Syracuse, NY – The North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (NASRCC) issued the following statement today on the groundbreaking for I-81.

“On behalf of the blue-collar workers who will be part of this critical project, we want to thank our bipartisan leadership at all levels of government for delivering a historic investment for Central New York. Every dollar spent on infrastructure has a multiplier effect on the economy, and this project means thousands of quality jobs,” said Jim Mason, NASRCC Business Manager and Local 277 President.

“The Carpenters Union is proud to be playing a role, and we will be investing our own resources with an expansion of our training center to meet the needs of future development in the region. This project is a tremendous opportunity, putting real people to work revitalizing our community.”
