In Memory of Brother Paul Ledwell Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of our Brother and friend, Paul Ledwell Jr. Brother Ledwell was a member of Pile Drivers Local 56 and one of two lost in a jobsite incident in Everett, Massachusetts, last week.
Paul was so much more than a highly skilled, respected and dedicated member of our union; he was a cherished father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. For those of us who knew Paul, we knew his two sons, Paul and Vincent, were the light of his life.
Paul came from a long line of proud union pile drivers. His father Paul, brother Daniel, and brother-in-law Sean, all share a deep commitment to the trade, to family, and to the values of hard work and brotherhood. After graduating from High School, Paul followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the New York Local 1456/1556 Piledrivers and Dock Builders Union at just 18 years old. Later, he became a proud member of the Boston Piledrivers Local 56, where he continued to build an impressive career grounded in craftsmanship, hard work, and integrity.
Paul pursued his passion for construction at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management in 2010. Over the years, he worked with some of the leading contractors in the industry, taking on projects that stretched from Boston to New York to Florida. His commitment and skill left an enduring mark on every job site he touched.
His sister, Darcy, shared that Paul took immense pride in his work, always striving to do his best, following in his father’s footsteps and working alongside his brother and brother-in-law as a Boston Local 56 Pile Driver.
Paul’s absence is deeply felt in our union, but as we grieve his loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life he built: a life filled with love, pride, and purpose. His legacy will live on in his work and his union family. Information about services can be found here.
Rest in Peace, Brother. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.🕊💙
In the wake of Paul’s loss, his family is raising funds to support his children’s education. Any contribution will make a meaningful difference: https://www.gofundme.com/f/Help-support-paul-vinny-ledwell
