Empowering Women in Construction: Highlights from the New England Conference

On September 21st, nearly 100 industry leaders gathered in Farmington, CT, for the 2nd annual New England Women in Construction conference. CT Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz delivered a powerful keynote, emphasizing the critical role building trades unions play in advancing pay equity for women. Signatory contractor Dimeo co-sponsored the event and was strongly represented.

Krystal Green, NASRCC Executive Committee member and Local 326 member, moderated the “It Takes a Village – How to Bring More Women into Construction” panel, featuring Local 327 Sister Liz Skidmore. Both Green and Skidmore highlighted the career opportunities they’ve gained through the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters and the union’s ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access for all workers.
