Statement from Carpenters Union on Tragedy in Buffalo

The North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (NASRCC) Local 276 issued the following statement on this weekend’s tragedy in Buffalo.

“We offer our deepest sympathies to the families, friends and neighbors of the victims of yesterday’s mass shooting in Buffalo. It makes us heartsick to witness another atrocity that continues the history of racial hate and violence in America. As a community, we need to heal. As a nation, we need to make changes,” said Chris Austin, NASRCC Western New York Business Manager.

“All Americans must learn to understand the damage done by hate and take an active role in eliminating it from every corner of our society. We will seek opportunities to work with our existing community partners and to develop new relationships and programs that contribute to true liberty and justice for all Americans.”
